Working together,
supporting communities

Our vision is to help make Newton Abbot a town whose residents are involved in making it a community they are proud of.

What is Newton Abbot CIC?

Newton Abbot Community Interest Company (the CIC) was established in 2008 in the town of Newton Abbot in south Devon. Although originally set-up to deliver the projects and priorities from the Newton Abbot & District Community Plan, the CIC’s work has broadened over the years in response to community needs and opportunities.

The CIC is involved in a wide range of projects and activities. Our work is centred around the management of two community centres – The Buckland Centre and The Courtenay Centre.

Newton Abbot Community Fridge

The community fridge is located outside the main entrance of the Courtenay Centre, in Newton Abbot. It's accessible 24/7 and open to anyone who would like to donate or take food.

We collect food that is close to expiry or unable to be sold in supermarkets and make it available to take for free, in an effort to help prevent food waste.

We also encourage people to donate any food they may not use - but do check the list on the information board next to the fridge for what can and can't be donated first.

The Community Fridge is run by volunteers and we're always in need of more support, so if you have any small amounts of spare time and fancy getting involved, press below!
